The legal information on this page as well as all questions and disputes in connection with the design of this website are subject to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany.

No analytics, no tracking, no cookies of our own. Fonts and every other asset are served from our own host, so visiting this site sends no request to any third party. What remains is the connection data (IP address, time, requested page, browser) needed to deliver the pages: this site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, as our processor (Art. 28 and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR) and may set a technically necessary cookie for bot protection, which requires no consent (§ 25(2) TDDDG). Cloudflare processes this connection data only to deliver the pages and to defend against attacks and abuse, and retains it only for a limited period; we keep no server logs of our own.

Messages sent through the contact form are processed by our hosting provider and delivered through its email relay to our mailbox, which Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, operates for us (Google Workspace); Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). You receive an automatic confirmation that your message has arrived. We use your details solely to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR) and delete them as soon as they are no longer needed for it, unless statutory retention duties for business correspondence require us to keep them (§ 257 HGB, § 147 AO). Email is not end-to-end encrypted; for confidential matters, ask us for another channel first.

Applications: if you apply by email, we receive the data you send us, typically your name, contact details, CV, certificates and cover letter. We process it solely to decide on your application (§ 26(1) BDSG, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). It is stored in our Google Workspace mailbox (see above) and seen only by the people involved in that decision. We delete it at the latest six months after the process has ended, unless a statutory duty requires longer retention or you consent to it for future openings.

You can ask what we hold about you, and have it corrected, deleted, restricted, or handed over in a portable format, and you can object to processing based on our legitimate interests (Art. 15–21 GDPR) — write to info@albslabs.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); the authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg.

Newsletter: if you subscribe, your email address is stored in our own subscriber database, which runs on the infrastructure of our hosting provider Cloudflare (see above) as our processor (Art. 28 GDPR). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by clicking the confirmation link we send you (double opt-in). As proof of that consent we record only the times of your subscription and of your confirmation; no IP addresses are stored. Issues are sent from our own domain through our mail provider Google Workspace (Google Ireland Ltd., see above) as a distribution list that mirrors the confirmed subscribers; they contain no tracking pixels or tracked links, so we do not evaluate opening or click behaviour. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every issue, on our unsubscribe page, or by writing to us; your address is then marked as unsubscribed and receives no further issues. Unconfirmed subscriptions are deleted after seven days.

The texts, images, photos, videos or graphics on our website are generally protected by copyright. Any unauthorized use (in particular the reproduction, editing or distribution) of this copyright-protected content is therefore prohibited. If you intend to use this content or parts thereof, please contact us in advance using the details above. If we are not ourselves the owner of the required copyright usage rights, we will endeavor to arrange contact with the entitled party.
